Cathy Renee Dyson Cotton was born on Nov. 27, 1961, by way of Roy and Alexzine Dyson Sr.

Cathy leaves to cherish her precious memories: her husband of 25 years, Larry “O’Neal” Cotton; her only son, Kylon “Boomer” Cotton Sr.; her grandchildren, Kylon Cotton Jr. and Lola “the dog;” five children in love, Elvery Peters, Iteonna Bell, Cierra Cotton, Turquoise Butler-Cotton and Kierra Williams; three siblings, Willie Robinson and Tyrounda Conerly, both of Franklinton, and Roy (Katrina) Dyson Jr. of LaPlace; her godmother, Cora Thompson; three godsisters and one godbrother, Shanda (Kenny), Lisa, Steven (Tania), Joy (Reginald); two aunts, Valdora (Joseph) Snedecor of Zachary, and Fredda Sherman of Houston, Texas; one great-aunt, Betty Dyson of Bogalusa; five nephews, Dayon, Roylayn Sr. (Vickie), DeQuantis, Roy III and Willique; seven nieces, Angel, Sebrina (Faheem), Jadelyn, Diamond, Biaundra (Jeffery), Kiaun and Angela (Randy); special nephew and godson, Roylayn Robinson Jr.; three godchildren, Courtney, Lexi and Kelby; her extended sisters and brothers, Gilda, Ginger, Stanley, Rhea and Gilbert; six children she cherished as her own, David “Tootie,” Ciji, Gigi, Alajide, Alaijwon and Shaniqua; three nieces she loved as her own, Amy (Quenzell) Spikes, Anastashia Young and Brian’Claire Frances; and a host of other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Roy and Alexzine Dyson Sr.; three sisters, Dorothy, Linda and Cynthia Dyson; and sister and best friend, Lori Burris.

A drive-through viewing will be held on Friday, Feb. 26, from 2 p.m. until 6 p.m. at Crain and Sons Funeral Home in Franklinton.

A funeral service will be held Saturday, Feb. 27, at 2 p.m. at Sweet Home Church of Christ Holiness, USA, with the Rev. Kevin Golden, pastor, officiating. Interment will follow at Sweet Home Church Cemetery.
