Lady Bucs take 3rd at South State

Bowling Green School’s Lady Buccaneers came in third place at the 2021 South 3A Basketball Tournament that took place Feb. 9-10, 12-13 at Columbia Academy.

After defeating Riverfield Academy, 58-13, on Feb. 9, the Lady Bucs came up short to Clinton Christian Academy, 42-36, on Feb. 12.

Bailey Devall was Bowling Green’s points leader with 12. She had a 3-pointer, four rebounds an assist and six steals.

KaKa Seal posted nine points that included a 3-pointer along with four boards, five assists and five steals.

Bridget Devall recorded eight points, five rebounds, an assist, two steals and a blocked shot.

Claire Wascom tallied five points that included a 3-pointer, three rebounds, an assist and a steal.

Anna Claire Crowe had two points, two rebounds and a steal.

Javonnie Bickham posted an assist.

Bowling Green won the third-place game, 44-22, over Lamar Christian School.

Crowe posted 14 points to top Bowling Green on 5-of-10 from the field and 2-of-4 from behind the arc. Crowe tallied two rebounds and two steals.

Bailey Devall recorded eight points on 3-of-6 in field goals that included a 3-pointer, seven boards, two assists, five steals and a blocked shot.

Wascom had eight points, five rebounds, two assists and a steal.

Seal posted seven points, six assists and three steals.

Bridget Devall posted four points, four boards, an assist and a steal.

Peyton Dupuy scored three points that included a 3-pointer.

Bickham had a rebound.

Two Lady Buccaneers are all-tournament, including, Seal and Bailey Devall.

The top four teams advanced to the Class AAA Tournament that will take place on Feb. 23-24, 26-27 at Oak Hill Academy. Bowling Green will open the tournament on Wednesday with a game against North Delta School at 5 p.m. The winner will play either Columbia Academy or Oak Hill Academy.
