John Richard “Dickie” Underwood, 70, of Hattiesburg, Miss., passed away Sunday, Feb. 7, 2021. A celebration of life will be held Saturday, Feb. 20, at 2 p.m. at Elks Lake.

Mr. Underwood was a member of Tabernacle Baptist Church in Purvis, Miss., and was a devoted member of the Elks Lodge #599.

He was preceded in death by his father, John Richard Underwood Sr.; and one brother-in-law, Dave Jarrett.

He is survived by his daughter, Casey Underwood Lemaster (Chris) of Oak Grove, Miss.; three grandchildren, Grace, Gavin and Ella; his mother, Millie Underwood of Bogalusa; one step-son, Dennis Patrick Jr. of Hattiesburg; two sisters, Vickie Bennett (Joe) of Port Neches, Texas, and Donna Jarrett of Orlando, Fla.; two brothers, Tommy Underwood (Debbie) of Bogalusa, and Steve Underwood (Karen) of Chattanooga, Tenn.; and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
