Franklinton Youth Soccer Association registration

The Franklinton Youth Soccer Association registration for the 2021 spring season will take place on Saturdays Feb. 13, 20 and Saturday, Feb. 25.

Signups take place at the Franklinton Junior High School Library. The Saturdays from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. and the Thursday signup is from 4:30 p.m. until 6:30 p.m.

Ages 3-18 are eligible.

The cost is $65 per child and $45 for 2020 spring players.

The fee includes the uniforms.

Only new players need to bring their birth certificate for verification.

Louisiana Mercury practice

The Louisiana Mercury 2020-21 16U AAU Tryouts have been complete, but practice continues on Saturday, Feb. 20 from 1 p.m. until 3 p.m. at Varnado High School.

All players interested in joining are welcome to come to the practice.

The team has three spots available.

The team will travel in state and out of state from March through July.

Dogwood Dash 5K to benefit Christmas in the Park

The Dogwood Dash 5K and Fun Run benefiting Christmas in the Park will be held March 20 at Cassidy Park.

The cost is $30 and T-shirts are on a first come, first served basis. The 1-mile Fun Run registration is $15.

Franklinton Soccer Club registration

The Franklinton Soccer Club in-person signups have concluded, but the group is always accepting new members.

Membership is paid annually.

The Franklinton Soccer Club has a spring and a fall season.

The spring season will begin on March 1 and go through May 1.

The goal of the club is to develop the skills of each player to his or her potential by focusing on small sided games and individual ball control.

The club plays at the Atoka Recreation Complex on Hwy. 25. It is located two miles from the entrance to the Washington Parish Fairgrounds. This year, FSC is planning to play teams from neighboring clubs.
