On Monday, Feb. 1, 2021, Murphy Jay Smith, husband, father, son and brother, passed away suddenly at the age of 41. Murphy will be forever remembered by his wife and best friend Tina and his precious children, Brennan, Santana and Rosie; by his parents, Linda Smith and Walton Smith (deceased); and by his four brothers and sisters-in-law, Don (Rachel), Fabian, Morgan (Stephanie) and Kenneth. Murphy will also be forever remembered by his nieces and nephews, Ethan, Andrew, Mckenzie, Adalyn, Allie, Aidan, Dakota, Grayson, Dalton, Patrick, Garrett, Cherish and Charity.

Murphy Jay Smith, 41, of Moselle, died unexpectedly on Monday, Feb. 1, 2021, from injuries sustained from a major heartache. Murphy’s loss was completely unexpected and the family is shocked and deeply saddened.

Murphy worked for FedEx as a package handler for one and a half years, and was known by his company as one hard worker.

Anyone who actually knew Murphy knew he was kind, loving, caring, warm, brilliant, awesome and wonderful. Murphy had an immense passion for family and was always a source of positivity. Murphy’s family and friends will miss Murphy more than words can say.

He was preceded in death by his father, Walton Smith; grandparents, Murphy Jay and Hilda Smith, Elbert Haley and Wilda Haley Hill; and nephew, Zachary Smith.
