Torris Joseph Bascle, 67, a resident of the Isabel Community, died Monday morning, Feb. 1, 2021, at his home. He was a longtime truck driver for several different companies through the years, hauling all kinds of freight. Torris, earlier in life, loved riding his Harley-Davidson motorcycle. He enjoyed riding his lawnmower and keeping his yard cut and looking good. Torris enjoyed watching wrestling with his grandchildren and watching his large fish tank. He was a member of Isabel Baptist Church, where he sang in the church choir. Torris was a proud born again Christian that found his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ later in life at his church. He cherished the time spent with his beloved family.

He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Shirley M. Polk Bascle of Isabel; son and daughter-in-law, Ben and Krystal Bascle of Isabel; seven grandchildren, Sebastian Bascle, Harlie Bascle, Aliyah Bascle, Abbyghale Bascle, Adeleigh Bascle, Ally Bascle and Airyn Bascle; brother, Joey Bascle; three sisters and a brother-in-law, Jo Ann and Terry Zeringue, Jane Bascle, and Tina Bascle; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Wade and Myrna Polk; and also numerous nieces, nephews and other family members and friends.

He was preceded in death by his son, Adam Daniel Bascle; parents, Horris Anthony Bascle Sr. and Josephine Autin Bascle; brother, Horris Anthony Bascle Jr.; sister, Margaret Ann Bascle; and other family members.

Visitation will be at Isabel Baptist Church (53674 Parker Road North in Bogalusa) on Saturday, Feb. 6, from 11 a.m. until 4 p.m. A funeral service will be held in the church at 4 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 6, with the Rev. Michael Thomas and the Rev. Carl Beech officiating.
