John David Collins, 52, of Boerne, Texas, passed away on Jan. 30, 2021, at St. Tammany Parish Hospital in Covington. He was born of April 9, 1968, in Augusta, Ga. John was a plant Superintendent for Martin Marrietta in San Antonio, Texas. David had a passion for music, all genres and a variety of artists. He would say it’s not just the tune you have to listen to the words. He loved being on the beach, and spontaneous road trips to Mexico for street tacos and to spend the day shopping. He loved making others laugh and was always good at doing something to make everyone laugh.

He is survived by wife, Judy Easterling Collins of Boerne; mother, Karen Collins of Casper, Wyo.; sister, Kelly (Devin) Hodgins of Casper; brother, Jeremy Collins of King of Prussia, Pa., Spenser Collins, Austin Collins of Franklinton; daughter, Natalie Collins of Franklinton; and son, Harley Collins of Honey Grove, Texas; and nine nieces and nephews. He also leaves behind his partner in crime, his shadow, his not spoiled but very much loved, pretty girl, Chihuahua Ms. Sadie.

He was preceded in death by his father, John Louis Collins; his maternal grandmother, Florence Hughes (Willie “Bill” Hughes); maternal grandfather, J.W. Hodge; uncle, Paul Hodge; great-aunt, Elizabeth Faye Denz; paternal grandfather, David Roy Collins; and paternal grandmother, Bonnie Bell Gray.

Visitation will be at Poole-Ritchie Funeral Home in Bogalusa on Friday, Feb. 5, from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. in the chapel. The Rev. Wesley Quave will officiate the service and private graveside will be held at a later date.
