Lady Jacks topped by No. 1 team, defeats Franklinton

Bogalusa’s Lady Jacks went 1-1 in games held Tuesday and Wednesday and the Franklinton Lady Demons were defeated in contests that took place on Jan. 15 and Wednesday.

On Tuesday, Bogalusa was defeated by Albany, 58-31, in a District 8-3A game at home.

Taniya Brown led the Lady Jacks with 10 points.

Mary Ladner posted eight.

Tamerical Peters had five.

Deranique Lee and Caitlyn Holloway recorded three each.

Tamiya Crumedy tallied two points.

Albany was 13-5 at press time and is No. 1 in the unofficial LHSAA powerpoint rankings.

Bogalusa defeated Franklinton, 63-28, the following day at home.

Peters scored 14 points.

Ladner had 13.

Lee posted 11.

Brown tallied 10.

Jakayla Henry recorded seven.

Mariah Myles had four.

Holloway and Crumedy posted two points.

Franklinton was defeated by Pearl River in a District 9-4A game held on Jan. 15 at home.

Alanze Alexander led the Lady Demons with 16 points.

Bailey Brooks tallied seven.

Dawn Kenoe posted six.

Zykeria Dykes and Abigail Smith tallied five each.

Anayah Cooper and McKaylah Martin had two each.

Bogalusa will be back in action on Tuesday with a road game against Jewel Sumner.

Franlinton’s next game will take place on Monday against Mt. Hermon School at home.
