Bogalusa High School’s Deranique Lee

Bogalusa High School’s Deranique Lee is a senior.

Lee plays basketball for the Bogalusa and is a center for the Lady Jacks.

“Deranique Lee is one of two of my seniors on my team this year,” Bogalusa girls basketball coach Cornell Owens said. “She’s a great kid, quiet, soft spoken, but a leader in her own way. She is a very skilled basketball player, hopefully COVID doesn’t cut her season short. Hopefully she gets her chance to have a great successful senior season.”

I like it a lot because there will be times when you have lots of fun.

Who has been the most influential person in your school sports career? Why?

My coaches and my dad (Derrick Lee) because they push me to my limit and my dad because he tells me to work to the next level and to believe in myself.

Los Angeles Sparks’ Candace Parker because she has that type of confidence and she really believes in everything she does. She not only inspires others, but she inspires herself.

Los Angeles Sparks.

Best thing about living in Washington Parish?

My family. There isn’t much to do here, but my family makes it the best thing.
