The University of Louisiana at Lafayette will play in a bowl game on Dec. 26.

The Ragin’ Cajuns will play in the SERVPRO First Responder Bowl.

Kickoff is set for 2:30 p.m. and the game will take place at Gerald J. Ford Stadium in Dallas.

ABC will broadcast the game.

Two locals play for the Ragin Cajuns in redshirt junior Andre Jones and freshman Mike Martin.

Jones, a defensive lineman and 2017 Varnado High School graduate, made 40 tackles in the regular season along with 3.5 stops for a loss, two sacks, three quarterback hurries and a pass defended. His 40 tackles are tied for fifth on the team with Percy Butler.

Martin, who is a 2020 Franklinton High School graduate, is a running back.

The Ragin Cajuns are 9-1 this season with their only loss coming to Coastal Carolina University, which is 11-0.

The two were scheduled to play for the Sunbelt Conference title last week, but the game was canceled because of a positive COVID-19 test within the Coastal Carolina program. Because of contact tracing, an entire position group would not have been available to play due to possible exposure and therefore the game was canceled.

Both teams are co-conference champions.

The Ragin’ Cajuns are ranked 16th in the Associated Press Poll and 17th in the Amway USA Today Coaches Poll.

Louisiana’s opponent this week is the University of Texas San Antonio.

UTSA enters this week with a 7-4 record.

Both teams have not played in several weeks.

Louisiana’s last game was a 24-21 victory over Appalachian State University on Dec. 4, while UTSA’s last contest was a 49-17 win over North Texas on Nov. 28.
