Franklinton’s Lady Demons went 1-2 in soccer  games held Dec. 11, Dec. 15 and Thursday.

All three games were road contests.

The Lady Demons were defeated by Hammond, 4-2, on Dec. 11.

Ashlyn Welch tallied a goal on an assist from Madysen Varnado.

Franklinton coach Jennifer Jenkins said Brylie Fowler recorded a goal from long range with an assist from Briana Stroyewski.

Keeper Susan Bradford made four saves in net.

“We made some fundamental mistakes, but those are things we can work on and fix easily,” Jenkins said. “Our offense is working better and things are starting to come together. We have some new freshmen who are filling big shoes and they are working hard and doing great.”

On Dec. 15, Franklinton defeated Covington, 2-1.

Franklinton took a 1-0 lead, but Covington tied the game at 1-1 before the Lady Demons went on for the win.

Welch scored both goals for the Lady Demons.

On Thursday, Franklinton was defeated by Archbishop Chapelle, 4-0, in a District 6-II contest on the road.

Franklinton’s next game will take place on Jan. 9 when the Lady Demons play against Ben Franklin at home.
