A handsome baby boy, whom they named Amos Charles Ratliff, was born to Henry and Supfie Ratliff on Feb. 23, 1961, in Bogalusa. I’m sure his parents had him baptized in his early years of life.

Amos attended Wesley Ray High School and went to Job Corps in San Marcos, Texas. He loved drawing and doing martial arts with his two Chinese sticks.

He lived in New Orleans for several years and after Hurricane Katrina he moved to Baton Rouge until his demise on Dec. 15, 2020.

Amos is survived by his four brothers, R.J. (wife Brenda), Talage (wife Lela Mae), John L (wife Mary) and Walter Ratliff; and two sisters, Eddie Mae Ratliff-Mark and Geraldine Ratliff. Amos also has an army of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He never married nor had any children.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Supfie Ratliff; and three brothers, Jessie, Robert and Richard Ratliff.

There will be a graveside service on Tuesday, Dec. 22, at 10:30 a.m. at Sunlight Baptist Church Cemetery in Sandy Hook, Miss., with the Rev. Charles Galloway officiating.
