William McDonald, 72, a resident of Mt. Hermon, died Wednesday, Dec. 9, 2020, at his home.

He was a man who enjoyed fishing, helping his great nieces and nephews, with fixing their bikes. He also kept an eye on the neighborhood — “Our security guard.”

He is survived by his daughter, Freddie Barnes; two granddaughters of Kentwood; one sister, Elaine Burris; one brother, Lee Jerome Lewis of Mt. Hermon; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Alva Mae Lewis Thompson; father, Willie McDonald; brothers, Larnell Lewis, Angus Lewis, Frederick Lewis, Hosea Daniel Lewis and Calvin Lewis; and one sister, Loraine Lewis.

The funeral service will be held on Sunday, Dec. 20, at 1:30 p.m. at Crain and Sons Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow to the Crystal Springs A.M.E. Church Cemetery.
