BPD receives $43K grant

The Bogalusa Police Department has received a grant From the Louisiana Highway Safety Commission in the amount of $43,232.

The grant funds will be used to pay officers overtime to work seat belt checkpoints and juvenile underage drinking enforcement, DWI checkpoints and patrol, according to BPD Assistant Chief Percy Knight.

“This grant is intended to keep our city streets safe from impaired drivers and other traffic offenses,” Knight said.

The grant period is from October of 2020 to September of 2021.
