On Saturday, Dec. 12, starting at 11 a.m., COVID-19 preparedness kits will be distributed at a drive-through give-away, while supplies last, to each church in Bogalusa. Supplies are limited.

It was mutually agreed to distribute to churches that express an interest. If the church chooses to participate, the pastor or a representative should be present at the venue of distribution, Greater Ebenezer Baptist Church, located at 1104 Poplas St. COVID-19 preventative measures will be exercised, so please mask up and social distance.

The supplies given to the churches can then be distributed by the pastor’s/leader’s/representative’s discretion to their members or non-members. In addition, masks will be distributed to individuals, courtesy of the United Way.

This project is a joint effort of Louisiana Department of Health — Durand “Rudy” Macklin, Executive Director of Bureau of Minority Health Access; the Governor’s Council on Physical Fitness and Sports; and Bogalusa City Councilwoman Gloria Kates.

This is another venture to assist the community to decrease the spread of COVID-19.
