Kathleen “Kathy” Ann Rachal, at the age of 75, was called home early Saturday morning, Nov. 28, 2020.

Kathleen was a loving and devoted wife, supportive mother, caring sister, and a wonderful grandmother. Everyone was like family; she was not only a mother to her own but to others as well, no one went without. A generous, gentle soul whom understood the true meaning of compassion.

Kathy enjoyed the simple things in life, it didn’t take much to make her happy.

She knew how to live in the moment, taking nothing for granted by making every day count.

She had a gift of compassion, sharing her life with others, always helping and giving were she could. She adored the adventure in treasure hunting; you would often catch Kathy around town at local yard sales, snatching the greatest deals. Outdoors was her favorite place to be, whether it was cutting the grass, trimming hedges, or planting flowers, she had a passion for it all. Mostly, Kathy loved with an open heart, a gift that she left us all that will never be replaced or forgotten. Memories of her will live on forever.

Preceded in death were her parents, Rose Alley and Clarence Saulnier; a sister, Claudette Delorenzo; and a brother, Sonny Saulsberry.

Kathy leaves behind her husband of 50 years, Emmanuel Rachal; three daughters, Connie, Bonnie and Tina Moore; a son, Chris Rachal; six grandchildren, Nicole, Kristi, Troy (T.J.), Rebecca, Jessie and Suzie; five great-grandchildren, Hayley, Arianna, Carlos, Ashlyn, Nova and one on the way; two great-great-grandchildren, Aubree, Armani and one on the way; two siblings, Edward and Thomas Saulsberry; a host of cousins, nieces and nephews, extended family, and all those whose lives she touched, including her loving pets, Heidi, Lady and Braxton.

Please join us to celebrate her life as services will be held on Friday, Dec. 4, at 11 a.m. at Brown-McGehee Funeral Home, located at 610 Ave. F in Bogalusa. Visitation will be at 8:30 a.m. Friday and 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday. Interment will be in Pine Community Cemetery. The repast will follow at 615 Erie Ave.
