Franklinton Tournament starts Wednesday

Franklinton High School’s basketball tournament takes place this week from Wednesday through Saturday.

The event takes place at two different schools in Franklinton and Pine.

Eight teams from Washington Parish are competing in the four-day event.

Both gyms are hosting two each day with games that will tip off at 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. Wednesday to Friday. On Saturday, games will run at 10 a.m. and noon and Pine and 11 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. at Franklinton.

On Wednesday at Franklinton, Franklinton will play Varnado in a girls game to start with Loranger and Lakeshore’s boys at 7 p.m.

At Pine, Bogalusa and Loranger girls will go against each other at 5 p.m. with Pine and Bogalusa boys going against each other at 7 p.m.

On Thursday, contests at Franklinton will feature a pair of boys games.

The opener will be Bogalusa and Lakeshore at 5 p.m., followed by Franklinton and Loranger.

Over at Pine, Pine will face Varnado in a girls game at 5 p.m., with Pine and Fontainebleau boys after that.

On Friday at Pine, at 5 p.m. Pine faces Loranger at Pine in a girls game. The next game is Fontainebleau and Loranger playing a boys game.

At Franklinton, Franklinton and Bogalusa girls and boys play in both games. The girls contest will start at 5 p.m. with the boys game following.

On Saturday, the action starts at Pine with Varnado and Loranger facing each other at 10 a.m. and Fontainebleau and Lakeshore boys playing at noon.

Games tip off at 11 a.m. at Franklinton on Saturday with Franklinton and Pine girls and boys playing in both games. The girls game starts at 11 a.m. with the boys getting underway at 12:30 p.m.
