Getting your Trinity Audio player ready...

On Aug. 26, 1945, Paulette Westbrooks was born to the late Julius and Neamer Westbrooks.

She attended the Washington Parish School System. She was a lifelong resident of Franklinton, where she was a retired homemaker. She was loved by all who knew her. She took in and cared for any and all that she was able to.

She was a community activist and she loved giving back to her community.

On the night of Oct. 31, 2020, carrying over into the early morning of Nov. 1, 2020, she went home from this world. Her journey here with us is now complete.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Julius and Neamer Westbrooks; sisters, Lora Toca, Ruth Bennett, LaVern Hayes and Dorothy Baham; brothers, Clifford, Mitchell, Fessie and Paul Westbrooks; children, a set of twins, Robbie and Robin, and a daughter, Ruthie Westbrooks; and grandchildren, Billy and Bob Robertson and Brittany Bickham.

She leaves to cherish her memories: her children, Clifford Westbrooks, Gina Davison of Denham Springs, Tracy Magee of Baton Rouge, Steven Westbrooks of Denham Springs and Terrance Handy (James) of Franklinton; her grandchildren, Quola Magee, Brodrick Magee, LaQuaris Westbrooks, Steven Magee, Deon Westbrooks, (Shandreka), Jonathan Bickham, Keyon Bickham (Jennifer), Sundra Davison, Sonja Davison and Chasity Aaron; one sister, Julia Walker of Springfield; two brothers, Gary Westbrooks of Hammond and Nathaniel (Mary) Westbrooks; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She also leaves behind some special friends, Ester Magee, Crystal and Jody Oncale; and her belated friend, Louise Kagler.

She had caretakers that loved and enjoyed her and she enjoyed them and the services that they provided for her; they are Faye Lewis, Christina Bickham, Margaret Myles and Marie. They took really good care of her.

She also had some special outside grandchildren who called her “Maw Maw;” Richard Lowe Jr. and Donell Hart are among a few.

The funeral service will be held on Saturday, Nov. 7, at 1 p.m. at the Cook-Richmond Funeral Home Franklinton location. Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. and continue until the service time.
