A 19-year-old from Angie has been arrested in connection with a shooting that left two people dead and two people injured after a University of Louisiana at Lafayette football game, according to reports.

Lafayette Police Department spokesperson Sgt. Wayne Griffin said that Jamyron Magee, 19, of Angie, was arrested Thursday in Slidell.

Magee was charged with two counts of first-degree murder and two counts of attempted first-degree murder. He was held in custody in the Lafayette Parish Correctional Center, following his arrest.

According to reports, Magee was taken into custody by agents with the Western District of Louisiana U.S. Marshal’s Violent Offender Task Force.

Magee is accused of shooting and killing Ja’Kyrie Clark, 19, of Lafayette, and Nathaniel Sharply, 18, of Lafayette. He is also accused of shooting and injuring two University of Louisiana at Lafayette students — a 20-year-old woman from Lafayette and a 19-year-old man from Opelousas.

According to reports, Lafayette police officers responded to a “shots fired” call at about 1 a.m. on Thursday, Oct. 15, in the area near West Pont Des Mouton Road. There were reportedly more than 300 people at a party following the football game, when a fight broke out that led to the shooting.
