Pine goes 2-1 this week in volleyball

Pine’s Lady Raiders went 2-1 in volleyball matches held Tuesday through Thursday.

On Tuesday, Pine was defeated by Springfield in a road District 4-IV contest, 16-25, 25-12, 22-25, 25-15, 25-11.

Kiyasha Clark downed four kills.

Makia Clark tallied three kills, an ace and she blocked a shot.

Savannah McDaniel posted two kills.

Hailey Martin and Kaitlyn Cochran recorded an ace each.

Leah Ladner blocked a shot.

The next day was a 25-15, 25-20, 25-16 loss to Covington in a non-district contest at home.

Pine was victorious on Thursday over St. Helena College and Career Academy, 25-11, 25-7, 25-13 on the road in District 4-IV play.

Pine entered the week No. 19 in the unofficial LHSAA powerpoint ratings for Division IV.

One week remains in the regular season.

Pine has three regular season games left. They include District 4-IV opponents Independence, Bogalusa and non-district opponent Patrick Taylor Science and Technology. The games will be Tuesday through Thursday. All contests are on the road.
