Franklinton heads to Belle Chasse on Thursday at 7 p.m., as the Demons look to turn things around.

The Demons enter this week with an 0-3 record after a 24-0 loss to Jewel Sumner.

Despite the score, Franklinton’s defense was solid throughout.

“We played our best defensive game of the year last week so that is encouraging,” Franklinton coach Jonathan Barber said. “I knew we would make some strides on that side of the ball because of our youth. I think we will continue to see that unit improve. We are going to do some things differently on offense this week so that we can get our quarterback settled into the game. We also have to do a better job of establishing the running game. The players are there, we just have to execute better. We will improve this week and be ready to go on a short week.”

Last week, the defense allowed just 10 points on a field goal and 43-yard touchdown run after a turnover. The other 14 points were on interception returns for touchdowns.

Belle Chasse played its first game of the season on Saturday because of COVID earlier this season. Belle Chasse won the game 31-13 win over South Lafouche.

Franklinton won last year’s game, 23-17.
