Bogalusa’s Lumberjacks will celebrate Homecoming and begin District 8-3A play on Friday by hosting Albany with kickoff set for 7 p.m.

“I’m looking forward to playing football again,” Bogalusa coach Adam Brumfield said. “I hate that these kids have lost four games already and I think we had a pretty good shot of winning all four of them. However you can’t harp on the past or what could’ve been. You have to focus on the future. I’m going to try my best to get our kids ready to play after two weeks with no practice and only two days to prepare. This is the hardest working most determined team that I’ve had since I’ve been here and I know they are champing at the bit to play. Those guys might be a little rusty but I think this group will be able to shake it off and they will be ready to play Friday night. Hopefully we go out and get our first district win.”

The four games Brumfield alluded to are the season being eight games instead of the original 10 and they have not played in two weeks because of a person on campus testing  positive for COVID-19 test.

Bogalusa last played on Oct. 2, which was the opener, a 26-13 win over Franklinton.

The Lumberjacks have five regular season games left. The next two games, including this week, and the final two are district contests with a non-district game in the middle.

After this week, Bogalusa will travel to Archbishop Hannan on Oct. 30.
