Getting your Trinity Audio player ready...

Lucille Carter, known to everyone as “Juicy Lucy,” peacefully transitioned from her life-long earthly labor to receive her heavenly reward on Monday evening, Oct. 5, 2020, in the care of her devoted loving daughter, Mrs. Tora (Minister Wallace) Pittman.

She was born to Mrs. R. Lee McClenton and (the late) Mr. W.J. McClenton. She became a faithful and devoted member of the Holy Temple C.O.G.I.C., under the leadership of Supt. Elder Leslie Fields Jr., until her departure.

Mrs. Lucille faithfully performed her church duties as an Usher, choir member, board member and co-organizer for “This Is Your Life,” with longtime “special friend,” Sister Delores Myres.

She is preceded in death by her longtime soulmate, the late Carl Carter; father, W.J. McClenton; two sisters, Gloria Jefferson and Effie Hatcher; two wonderful children, Brentona (Nancy) McClenton and Tora (Minister Wallace) Pittman.

She was a proud and loving grandmother of six; a great-grandmother of five; and great-great-grandmother of three.

She is also leaving to mourn a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, godchildren and friends who will always love and cherish their memories of “Juicy Lucy” forever.

Special friend, longtime traveling companion and confidant, Mrs. Delores Myres, will also greatly miss and cherish her cousin forever and a day.

Visitation is Saturday, Oct. 17, at 10 a.m. with a Homecoming Tribute beginning at 1 p.m. at the Cook-Richmond Funeral Home in Bogalusa.

Cook-Richmond Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Sign the guestbook online at www.cookrichmondfuneralhome.com.
