Franklinton’s Demons are at home on Thursday, taking on New Iberia with a 7 p.m. kickoff.

“New Iberia will challenge us in some different ways,” Franklinton coach Jonathan Barber said. “They are a (Class) 5A school from the Lake Charles district. I am interested in seeing how we respond with our backs against the wall. Last week’s loss was gut wrenching for our players, but I know what type of character we have in our locker room and I expect us to respond in the right way.”

The Demons were defeated by Bogalusa last week, 26-13.

In Friday’s game, Corinthious Dickerson threw for 88 yards and a touchdown.

Cornelius Laurant led the team in rushing with 59 yards and a touchdown.

Kadarious Mark was the Demons’ leading receiver with five catches for 82 yards and a touchdown.

Kelly Daniels caught one pass for 5 yards.

New Iberia comes into this week after a 27-25 win over Westgate.

These two teams did not meet last year.

After this game, Franklinton plays Jewel Sumner on Oct. 16.
