Washington Parish, in partnership with the Louisiana Dept. of Health, Office of Public Health, and the Louisiana National Guard (LANG) is pleased to provide the parish with free COVID-19 testing, until further notice.

The date and location of this testing will be available every:

• Monday and Tuesday starting Monday, Sept. 21, and continuing every week until further notice at the Office of Public Health (Bogalusa Health Unit), at 626 Carolina Ave. in Bogalusa.

• Wednesday and Thursday starting Wednesday, Sept. 23, and continuing every week until further notice at the Office of Public Health (Franklinton Health Unit), at 120 11th St. in Franklinton.

The scheduled times are 9 a.m. until 4 p.m., at both locations.

There are no out-of-pocket costs for those seeking a test at these community testing sites. A telephone number and email address must be provided to be tested. An ID is preferred, but not required. Anyone who is a Louisiana resident above the age of 5 is eligible to be tested.

The test will be self-administered and monitored by LANG personnel. Persons being tested should be pre-registered online at www.doineedacovid19test.com.

However, those not pre-registered and being tested will be registered by LANG personnel on site. Those who are tested should receive results within three to five days.

Those who test positive will receive a call from 877-766-2130 and all results will be emailed back to the individuals who are tested, via the email address provided.

Other particulars for persons to be tested are that no doctor’s order is required, no symptoms are required, there is no fee for the test and the test is a minimally invasive nasal swab self-test.
