Nicholls State University offensive lineman P.J. Burkhalter has added another award to his impressive resumé.

Burkhalter, a 2015 Franklinton high School graduate, has been named to the Stats Perform FCS Preseason All-America Team.

Burkhalter, a senior, made the first team and was one of five offensive linemen to make the team.

Just this offseason and besides his latest award, Burkhalter, who was the 2019 Southland Conference Offensive Lineman of the Year, has been named to the Athlon Sports FCS Preseason All-America Team, College Football America Yearbook FCS Preseason Starting Lineup, HERO Sports FCS Preseason All-America First Team, Stats Perform FCS Preseason All-America First Team, Phil Steele FCS First-Team All-America First Team and All-Southland Preseason First Team.

Nicholls State University was scheduled to open the season on Sept. 12, but the Southland Conference postponed fall semester sports with the intent to explore conference competition in the spring semester.
