The National Weather Service said, in its Monday afternoon forecast of Hurricane Sally, that it is likely Washington Parish will see weaker winds than the NWS previously predicted.

At approximately 1:45 p.m. Monday, the NWS said that Washington Parish will likely experience “below tropical storm force wind” from Sally. This forecast includes 15-25 mph winds, with gusts up to 45 mph. This is a downgrade from Monday morning’s forecast of 30-40 mph winds.

Anticipated rainfall is 1-3 inches. The storm is expected to affect the parish between Tuesday morning and Wednesday morning.
