Golfers have a chance to compete and help out the YMCA later this week.

The YMCA Golf Classic takes place on Saturday at the Bogalusa Country Club.

This is the 16th year of the annual event, which is a major fundraiser for the YMCA.

YMCA CEO Stuart Parker said the tournament benefits the YMCA to where they can supply programs for the children.

Parker said they want to get everybody out there to play and help the YMCA.

“We want all of the golfers to come out, support the ‘Y’ and enjoy it,” Parker said.

Registration for the event begins at 8 a.m. with a 9 a.m. tee time and lunch is being served at 11 a.m.

Prizes are being awarded for the first through fourth place teams.

The cost for the two-man scramble is $100 per person

Parker said they are taking the COVID-19 precautions.
