Hilda Sheridan Magee, 96, passed away late Tuesday night, Aug. 18, 2020, at Riverside Medical Center. She grew up in the Plainview Community until she married her Valentine, Latimore Magee, on Feb. 14, 1946. They made their home in the Lawrence Creek Community. She helped to operate the family dairy and was a homemaker and mother to her four sons. Hilda was a member of Lawrence Creek Missionary Baptist Church, who enjoyed singing, gardening and tending to her flowers. She also enjoyed watching her favorite TV game shows each afternoon and loved cooking for her family.

She is survived by: two sons and a daughter-in-law, Linus and Libby Magee, and Bolivar Magee; six grandchildren and spouses, Daphne Magee Phelps, Kyle and Samantha Magee, Chanda Magee Reed, Matthew Magee, Annette Magee Pierre, Amanda Magee Painter and Joey Painter; 11 great-grandchildren, Jacob Phelps, Jordan Phelps and fiancé McKayla Sandifer, Lucas Magee, Ashley Gerald, Erin Reed, Cierra Pierre Stein and Arron Stein, Cheyenne Pierre, Adyson Painter, Drayden Painter, Hayden Painter, and Briley Painter; three great-great-grandchildren, Alivia Stein, Alana Stein, and Caiden Pierre Davis; brother and sister-in-law, Huey and Janice Sheridan; and also numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Latimore Magee; sons, Hollis Magee and Dennis Magee; granddaughter, Mallory Magee; parents, Bolivar Sheridan and Olivia Jones Sheridan; sisters, Cola Grantham, Eleanor Magee, Wilda Byrd, Mae Williams and Verta Lee Creel; and brothers, Shelton Sheridan, Melton Sheridan, Van Sheridan and Ellis Sheridan.

Visitation was at Crain Funeral Home on Friday, Aug. 21, from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. A funeral service was held in the funeral home chapel at 2 p.m. Friday with Eld. Duane Ball and Eld. Don Jacobs officiating. Burial followed in the Magee Cemetery in the Lawrence Creek Community.

Pallbearers were Kyle Magee, Matt Magee, Jacob Phelps, Jordan Phelps, Aaron Stein and Joey Painter.
