Lila Jean Boyte, 84, a resident of Angie, passed away on Aug. 17, 2020, at Riverside Medical Center in Franklinton. She was born in Booneville, Miss., on May 20, 1936.

She is survived by her husband, Billy Boyte; her sons, Mike Thomas and Richard (Tammy) Green; a granddaughter, Ashley Thomas; great-grandchildren, Justin, Kameron, Destinee, Bentley, and Lucas Thomas; and many other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Harry and Opal Simms Stephenson; a son, Joseph Barber; grandchildren, Janet Thomas and Michael Ray Thomas; and her brother, James Stephenson.

A graveside service to celebrate Lila’s life will be held on Thursday, Aug. 20, at noon at Freeman Cemetery in Varnado. The Rev. Kathy Pfleider will officiate and interment will follow the graveside service.
