On June 5, 1980, Noel Peter Watts Jr., the eldest child of Noel Watts Sr. and Glenda Fleming Watts, was born in Bogalusa. Better known to friends and family as “P.J.,” he touched the lives of many throughout his life. Noel lived in New Orleans East for most of his life, while spending some time in Franklinton with his grandparents.

He attended school at Sarah T. Reed Senior High School in New Orleans. Noel later moved to Houston, Texas. He attended welding school and worked in construction. He recently relocated to Tucson, Ariz., to be near his mother and other family until his untimely death.

Noel leaves to mourn his passing his mother, Glenda; sisters, Takeshi and Latoya Watts; brother, Brandon Watts, all of Tucson; father, Noel Watts Sr. of New Orleans; aunts, Jamella (Charles) Magee of Franklinton, Leah Howard, Emelda Watts, and Iris Brisco, all of New Orleans; uncles, Clarence Watts Jr., Barry, Lwnwood, Desmond, and Wendell Watts, all of New Orleans; seven nieces, Ty’Jae Lawrence and Ta’Layah Watts, Corielle and Courtney Mutin, Kayla Watts, Jo’Nasiah Carter, and Peyton Hudson; nephew, Jonathan Watts; two great-nieces, Serenity Hilliard and Na’Zayaah Marrow, all of Tucson; special cousins, Latifa, Tracy, Stacy, and George Fleming; and a host of other cousins, relatives and friends.

Noel was preceded in death by his great-grandparents who helped raise him, Robert and Mamie Martin; his grandmothers, Madis Martin Russell and Cyrelia Watts; grandfathers, Samuel “R.L” Fleming, Leroy Russell, and Clarence Watts Sr.; uncles, Johnathan Fleming and Curtis Watts; and a nephew, Corey Mutin.
