Berry Alan Knight, 54, a resident of Pine, died Wednesday morning, Aug. 5, 2020, at his home. He was a graduate of Pine High School and he then obtained certification in welding. Berry worked as a welder in Bogalusa for many years. He always enjoyed riding horses and bass fishing along the Pearl River.

“Lord, Mend my heart — It is torn, Heal my spirit — It is weak. Fill me with Your love, so I won’t feel empty. Let Your light shine on me, within me and from me. Let all Your good things make me whole. Keep me safe, Lord, as I follow You and do Your will. Amen.”

He is survived by: son, Berrett Knight and Denise Hasney of Poplarville, Miss.; grandchildren, Kaiyden, Nevaeh, and Lelan; father and stepmother, J.P. and Barbara Knight of Arizona; three brothers, Jeffrey Knight and Regan Knight, both of Pine, and Derek Knight of Franklinton; stepsister, Dee Ann Knight of Bogalusa; uncle and aunts, Lavon and Betty Kemp of Lumberton, Miss., and Daisy Knight of Bogalusa; and former wife and mother of his son, Jennifer Davis Magee.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Carolyn Kemp Knight; grandparents, Seamon and Letha Knight, and Sidney G. and Bevie Kemp; and step-sister, Cora Jean Knight.

A graveside funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 8, in the Pine Community Cemetery, with Elder Donnie Broom officiating.

In lieu of flowers, the family prefers donations to help with final expenses.

Pallbearers will be River Thomas, Clayton Burnthorn, Clay Kahl, James Slocum, Greg Knight and Danny Kemp. Honorary pallbearers will be David Kemp, Billy Gerald and Brian Gerald.
