Washington Parish Government and Second Harvest Food Bank will sponsor a free summer distribution on Friday, Aug. 7, from 9 a.m. until noon. The event will be at Franklinton High School, located at 1 Demon Circle.

This is an open distribution — residents do not have to pre-qualify to receive food. It will be first come, first served.

Enter on Section Line Road from Highway 10. There will be no entrance from Pine Highway La-436.

In accordance with COVID-19 protocols, food will not be placed in passenger compartments of cars. Please make sure that your trunk is clean, and that your trunk contains a clothes-basket or other container of similar size. Your food will be placed in this container.

If you are in a pickup truck, please make sure that this container is secured in the bed of your truck. If your car is a hatchback, please place this container in the back compartment of your car.

If you cannot open your trunk from inside your car, please say so and you will be instructed when to open your trunk.

All citizens are asked to remain in their car at all times.

Distribution is made possible by the generous assistance of the Washington Parish School Board, Franklinton Police Department, The Help Center of Churches, Outreach Full Gospel Food Pantry, and the Washington Parish Food Bank.
