Bowling Green School’s football is in action Friday, going against Adams County Christian School in a scrimmage on the road.

“I want to see the offense play clean, assignment football, know where we’re lining up in formations, know our routes, know who we’re blocking, call out the fronts, make sure the quarterback’s protecting himself with calling out protections and getting ourselves in the right protections and just execution,” Bowling Green coach Riley Boudreaux said. “I know it’s going to be our first practice game, so it might not be as clean as I’d like it, but I want to be as good as we can be there.”

Boudreaux said that he wasn’t sure of the format, but said last year, they did things like a 7-on-7, an inside drill and team type of things with offense against defense, maybe some goal line stuff.

Boudreaux said they are looking for this.

“Especially our defense. I’m ready to see how they adjust to formations, rally tackle to the ball, see their energy and see how we cover. That’s going to be a big thing. We lost some people in the secondary and I want to see how we can cover,” Boudreaux said. “I also us to have our gap responsibilities and I want us to fly to the ball.”

Following this game, Bowling Green’s next competition will be against Madison-Ridgeland Academy Jamboree on Aug. 14 on the road.
