Mr. Jerry “Provost” Creel passed away on Tuesday evening, July 21, 2020, at the age of 79, at Slidell Memorial Hospital. Mr. Jerry was an owner/operator of Jerry Creel Trucking for many, many years.

Jerry is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Nedrey Holmes Creel, of Bogalusa; four sons, Craig Ritchie of Bogalusa, Barney Ritchie (Toni) of Bogalusa, Charles “Chubby” Ritchie (Helen) of Stateline, Miss., and Jeffery Smith of Tylertown, Miss. two brothers, George “Dick” Provost (Beth) of Denham Springs, and Ralph (Bannie) Provost of Monroe; one sister, Elaine Pardue (Butch) of Monroe; special daughter-in-law, Belynda Ritchie of Bogalusa; by numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He will be missed by his many, many friends.

Mr. Creel is preceded in death by his parents, Mr. George Ralph Provost and Mrs. Gladys Lucille Sumrall Provost; two sons Timothy Ritchie, and Sidney Ritchie Sr.; one stepson, Richard Williamson; one stepdaughter, Vicki Williamson; one brother, Frank Provost and his wife Betty Jo; two sisters, Catherine Provost Singletary and her husband Guy, Herschel Provost Kirkland and her husband Joe; and one sister-in-law, Irene Provost.

Relatives and friends of the family attended visitation on Friday, July 24, at Brown McGehee Funeral Home in Bogalusa, from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m., with visitation scheduled to resume on Saturday, July 25, at 9 a.m. until the service time at 1 p.m., at Brown McGehee Funeral Home in Bogalusa. Services will be officiated by Brother Chad Jenkins. Interment will immediately follow at Pounds Cemetery in Bogalusa.
