Franklinton Soccer Club will be playing games at Atoka Recreation Complex this fall.

Franklinton Soccer Club Secretary Kristi Crain said the fields will be ready by Aug. 24. The season begins Aug. 29.

“You can’t see the fields from the road at all, so the parish is building the club a road that leads to the fields,” Crain said. “The road to the field will be built from the back of the complex from Pico Road.”

Crain said a turning lane needs to be put in on Highway 25 in order for traffic to get to the fields from the highway and that a grant by Recreation District No. 1 has been approved for that to happen.

Crain said that soccer club officials have been working on the fields since the rest of the spring season was canceled because of the COVID-19 pandemic.

This was the club’s first season and they played two weekends of games before the season was canceled.

“We said then, let’s use our time to get ready,” Crain said.

Their season takes place Aug. 29 through Oct. 17.

The entrance to the fields are about two miles from the Washington Parish Fairgrounds.

You can register for the club online by visiting www.franklintonsoccerclub.com.

Registration is always open, but uniform fees must be paid by Monday, July 27 in order to get them in by the first game of the season.
