Nell Davis Crain, 91, of Pine, passed away peacefully at her home Tuesday, June 16, 2020, surrounded by her family. She was a longtime active member of Pine Missionary Baptist Church and a former beautician for many years. Nell worked, alongside her family, for 40 years at Bennie’s Garden Center. She was always a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend.

She is survived by her daughter, Deanie C. Ingram of Pine; son, Bennie E. Crain of Franklinton; grandchildren, Megan Crain, Ashley Spears, Brent Jonathan “B.J.” Crain, and Trent Crain, all of Pine; 13 great-grandchildren; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Juanita and Johnny Ramshur; and also numerous nieces, nephews and other family members.

She was preceded in death by her son, Yancey Brent Crain; husband, Benard C. Crain; parents, Arnold Winston Davis and Carrie McCain Davis; sisters, Exie Stringer and Elsie Kennedy; brothers, William Davis and Hulon Davis; and sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Burnettie and L.E. Toney, Gladys and Doug Kennedy, and Maudine Crain.

Visitation was at Pine Missionary Baptist Church on Friday, June 19, from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m. A funeral service was held in the church at 11 a.m. Friday, June 19, with Bro. Adam Luper and Bro. Brent King officiating. Burial followed in the Pine Community Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Charles Kennedy, Will Mattern, Dewayne Crain, Darren Kennedy, Roger Stevens and Gary Stuart. Honorary pallbearers were Richard Davis, Mike Davis, Tommy Toney, Ricky Ramshur, Dale Graves, Jimmy Stuart, Greg Stuart, Brad Stuart, D.J. Chaisson and George Knowles.
