YMCA Golf Tournament

The 16th annual YMCA Golf Classic takes place on Saturday, Aug. 29 at the Bogalusa Country Club.

The two-person scramble has registration at 8 a.m., tee time at 9 a.m. and lunch at 11 a.m.

You can drop off registration or mail it to 411 Ave. B, Bogalusa, LA, 70427.

The entry fee is $100 per player.

The cost includes carts, green fees, mulligans and lunch. Carts are limited, so if you have one, you are asked to bring it.

This is the YMCA’s biggest fundraiser.

Legends All-Pro Football Camp canceled

The annual Legends All-Pro Football Camp has been canceled because of the COVID-19 pandemic.

This would have been the 18th year.

The clinic plans to return for 2021.

Sports Work Academy Basketball Camp canceled

The Sports Work Academy Basketball Camp has been canceled because of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The annual clinic has been held for 13 years.

They plan on coming back in 2021.

Co-Camp Director Michael Galloway said they plan on doing something in the fall, not to replace the camp, but as a community event.

PRCC camps

Pearl River’s men’s and women’s soccer programs are hoping to have a busy summer after announcing upcoming youth and ID camps.

The programs will host joint boys and girls youth camps June 29 to July 2 and again July 20-23. The camps, open to children 4-12, will focus on a number of skills and drills. The registration fee is $100 and includes a camp T-shirt. Campers should be dropped off by 9 a.m. and picked up at noon. They should also bring cleats and shin guards.

The ID camp is available to any players with 2001-2006 birthdays who have not signed with a college.

Sign-in runs from 9-10 a.m., with technical training and small sided games 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. After a lunch break, participants will compete in 11-v-11 games from 1 p.m. until 2:30 p.m.

Registration is $90.
