Cornathan Harry was born in Bogalusa on June 28, 1954. He was the sixth child of nine children born to the late Willie I. and Adean Harry of Angie, and departed this life on Feb. 10, 2020, after a long illness.

He joined Wesley Ray United Methodist Church at an early age and remained an active member until he relocated to Las Vegas, Nev.

He graduated from Wesley Ray High School in Angie and furthered his education at Southern University of Baton Rouge.

His favorite pastimes included playing basketball, football, dominoes, card games and photography.

In 1973, he relocated to Las Vegas, and immediately began working in the hotel and casino industry, first as a Banquet Supervisor at the Las Vegas Hilton Hotel and later, transferred to the Mirage Hotel. His combined employment for both industries lasted over 40 years.

In 2017, Cornathan’s health began to fail, and on Wednesday, Feb. 10, 2020, he gained his wings and went home to live with the Lord.

Preceding him in death were his father, Willie I. Harry and mother, Adean Harry;

He leaves to cherish his love and precious memories: three children, Quinten Harry of West Virginia, Tyrone Black of Las Vegas, and Nathaniel Harry of Las Vegas; one brother, John E. Harry of Dallas, Texas; three sisters, Margaret (Joe) Gatlin of Las Vegas, Loretta Harry of Covington, and Melinda Faye (Michael) Patterson of Greensboro, N.C.; one aunt, Gertrude Graves of Angie; seven grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
