Emma Jean Taylor was born on Dec. 29, 1947, to the late J. Ross and Rose Mary Dykes. She was a native of Franklinton. She joined Sweet Home Church of Christ Holiness and was later baptized. She graduated from Washington Parish High.

She was married to Allen Ray Taylor for over 51 years, and to this union, four children were born: Keitha Magee, Deidra Taylor, Allen D. Taylor, and Kendrick Taylor.

She worked many years at Rutter Rex as a stem presser and after closing their doors, she worked at Dependable Cleaners upon retirement.

She leaves to cherish her memories: her husband, Allen Ray Taylor; two loving daughters, Deidra Taylor and Keitha (Clinton) Magee, both of Ocean Springs, Miss.; two sons, Allen D. Taylor and Kendrick Taylor, both of Franklinton; one brother, J.L. Dykes of Hackley; eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; one godson; one goddaughter; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, J. Ross and Rose Mary Dykes; three sisters; and one brother.

Emma Taylor was a loving mother who enjoyed spending time with her immediate and extended family. She has a quiet but welcoming spirit that imprinted to everyone she encountered.

A Private Graveside ceremony will be held on Saturday, May 9, at Sweet Home Cemetery with Elder Kevin Golden, pastor. Crain and Sons Funeral Home of Franklinton is in charge of arrangements. Sign the guestbook online at www.crainandsons.com.
