Getting your Trinity Audio player ready...

As we all watched in the weeks and months of this virus starting in Wuhan, China, quickly spreading throughout the world and hitting our nation, it’s been a battle for our hospitals and medical personnel to care for these infected people. They have put their own lives at risk, and some are getting infected as well. The world has changed and it’s not going to let up until we all do our part to combat the issue at hand.

Folks, take this warning seriously as key leaders such as your mayor and sheriff has put the word out and now curfews go in effect. It’s to protect you and your children and loved ones.

Please take precaution and wash your hands for 20 seconds at a time, as it may save yours or someone else’s life. Follow the key things like keeping a six-foot distance from another person. If you are getting gas, use gloves or something between the handle and your skin, or wipe it down with a germ-killer tissue as these pumps are full of germs.

Cover your mouth if you feel a cough coming. If you are sneezing, use the middle part of your arm to sneeze in as germs travel fast. Clean the steering wheel of your auto and the surrounding area.

This virus can stick to anything and can remain active for days. When shopping for food, use a mask and gloves if available. I would say if you take your children to a park, keep in mind that swings, slides and other playground equipment in the public could and may be contaminated. Use Lysol wipes, as you could be putting your child’s health at risk as well as your own.

I know it’s difficult to stay at home, but in these uncertain times it’s going to get worse as the number of coronavirus cases spreads and more unnecessary deaths occur during this pandemic. Do not think for one minute that you are immune to this horrific silent killer. It has no mercy, no matter who you are. Good judgment and safe practices will keep you alive.

Please refrain from large gatherings, as you do not know who may be sick. As all of us have to go to the grocery store to buy food, follow all guidelines. To protect yourself going into and coming out of the store, if you have some type of germ-killer wipes, use them before and after especially getting into your automobile.

Remember, it’s up to all of us to do our part. Thank you and God Bless the USA!
