The state of Louisiana has surpassed 500 deaths from COVID-19, according to statistics released Monday by the Louisiana Department of Health.

The LDH reported at noon Monday that there had been 14,867 cases reported, and 512 deaths. On Sunday at noon, there had been 13,010 cases reported, and 477 deaths.

As of Monday, there had been 62 parishes that had reported at least one case of COVID-19, out of 64 parishes in the state. There had been 92 reported cases in Washington Parish, with two deaths — the state had reported 81 cases and two deaths in its Sunday update.

There had been 637 cases in St. Tammany Parish, with 17 deaths, and 186 cases in Tangipahoa Parish, with two deaths.

The LDH said at noon Monday that there had been 4,510 tests completed by the state laboratory, and another 64,656 tests reported to the state by commercial labs. That is a total of 69,166 tests.

The state also reported that there were 1,809 COVID-19 patients in hospitals, with 563 of those patients on ventilators.

There had been 301 tests reported from Washington Parish, as of Monday’s update.

Comparing deaths to cases, the state reported 14,867 cases and 512 deaths — a ratio of 3.4 percent. Comparing overall tests to cases/positive tests, the state reported 69,166 tests and 14,867 cases — a ratio of 21.5 percent.
