LaToya Lynette Span passed away at the age of 37 on Monday, March 30, 2020, at North Oaks Hospital in Hammond.

LaToya was a resident of Covington. She was reared in Bogalusa. She accepted Christ at an early age under the leadership of Bishop Alfred N. Young Sr. She graduated from Covington High School. She continued her membership at Faith Bible Church in Covington, under the leadership of Dr. Alfred Nathan Young Jr.

She leaves to cherish her precious and loving memories: parents, Gregory James Span Sr. and Debra Ann Peters; siblings, Stephanie P. Monarch of Texas, Gregory James Span Jr. of Covington, Carlos Xavier Peters of Gulfport, Miss., Mrs. Tandra (Kevin) Garvin of Arizona; the love of her life, Gerald Dangerfield (fiancé); grandmother, Mrs. Clementine Davis; five nieces, Dajah, DeArion, Samatha, Kelsey, and Layla; three nephews, Kobe James, and Kash Span, both of New Orleans, and Anthony White of Killeen, Texas; two god sisters; four god brothers; two uncles, Jeffery (Ann) Conerly of New Orleans, and Lee (Sonia) Conerly of Seattle, Wash.; and a host of cousins, family and friends.

A private graveside service was held on Friday, April 3, at 11 a.m.
