Judd Scott Taylor, a Washington Parish Jail trustee who walked off on Sunday, March 29, and was captured on Thursday in Biloxi, Miss., was returned to Washington Parish on Friday and booked into the Washington Parish Jail, according to Chief Deputy Mike Haley of the Washington Parish Sheriff’s Office.

Haley said that Taylor waived extradition and jail deputies Chance Johnson and Barry Cooper transported him from the Harrison County (Miss.) Jail to Washington Parish. While Taylor was on the run, he received medical treatment for an arm injury suffered when he fell from the top of the jail fence while escaping, Haley said.

The investigation into the escape continues. Meanwhile, Taylor has been medically assessed and appropriately housed in the Washington Parish Jail, Haley said.

“He’s back where he belongs,” Washington Parish Sheriff Randy Seal said. “Many thanks to Harrison County law enforcement officers for making the capture.”
