As of Tuesday afternoon, the search continued for a Washington Parish Jail trustee who escaped Sunday evening.

According to Washington Parish Sheriff’s Office officials, Judd Scott Taylor climbed a jail perimeter fence and escaped early Sunday evening. Jail video shows Taylor entering a waiting vehicle and leaving the area, officials said.

WPSO detectives are conducting a search for Taylor, a resident of Bogalusa, who is believed to be either in the Bogalusa or Amite area. Taylor, 32, is not considered to be a threat to the public, officials said.

“We will find him,” Washington Parish Sheriff Randy Seal said. “It’s just a matter of time. Meanwhile, if anyone knows his whereabouts or the identity of the person who picked him up, they are asked to call the Washington Parish Sheriff’s Office at 985-839-3434.

“Let’s get Judd Taylor out of our community and back into the jail where he belongs. Callers may remain anonymous.”
