Getting your Trinity Audio player ready...

Versie Lee Youngblood Warren, an only child, was born Oct. 1, 1926, to the late Willie Jack and Rosa Davis Youngblood in Clifton. She joined and attended church at Bethel Church of Christ Holiness, at an early age.

She loved singing, sewing, and cooking. Her favorite meal of the day was breakfast. Her family and friends were indescribable. She was a faithful Sunday School teacher, member of UCWM, a Deaconess, and a Missionary for many years. Most importantly she loved the Lord. She married Ellis Warren on June 14, 1943, and to this union 11 children were born.

She leaves to cherish her memories: two daughters, Louise (Elbert Jr.) Davis, and Iretha (Larry) Brown of Franklinton; six sons, Huginton (Annette) Warren, Winston (Charlotte) Warren, Lester (Cheryl) Warren, Donald Ray Warren of Stockton, Calif., Kenneth (Edith) Warren, and Calvin Warren of Franklinton; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, George (Mary) Harvey of Sacramento, Calif.; 21 grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren; and a special aunt, George McCant and a host of family and friends.

She is preceded in death by her father and mother, Willie and Rosa Youngblood; her husband, Ellis Warren; and children, Calvett Warren, Willie Marie Watson, and Rosa Mary Manning.

Visitation will be held at Crain and Sons Funeral Home in Franklinton on Tuesday, March 31, from 9 a.m. until 10 a.m., with a private graveside service to follow at 11 a.m. with Elder Alvin Partman, pastor, officiating. Interment will be in Bethel Church Cemetery in Franklinton.
