The state of Louisiana has seen more than 100 deaths from COVID-19, according to statistics released Friday by the Louisiana Department of Health.

The LDH reported at noon Friday that there had been 2,746 cases reported, and 119 deaths. On Thursday, there had been 2,305 cases and 83 deaths.

As of Friday, there had been 54 parishes that had reported at least one case of COVID-19, out of 64 parishes in the state. There had been eight reported cases in Washington Parish, with one death — the state had reported six cases in its Thursday update.

There had been 111 cases in St. Tammany Parish, with two deaths, and seven cases in Tangipahoa Parish, with no deaths.

The LDH said at noon Friday that there had been 2,476 tests completed by the state laboratory, and another 18,883 tests reported to the state by commercial labs. That is a total of 21,359 tests — there had been 18,029 tests reported in Thursday’s update.

Out of the total of 21,359 tests reported Friday, 12.9 percent were positive for COVID-19. Out of the total of 2,746 cases, 119 had led to the patient’s death — a rate of 4.3 percent.

The state also reported that there were 773 COVID-19 patients in state hospitals, with 270 of those patients on ventilators.
