This statement was issued Monday by Parish President Richard “Ned” Thomas:

As of noon today, Monday, March 23, the Louisiana Department of Health is reporting 1,172 positive COVID-19 cases in the state of Louisiana, 1,634 tests completed by the state, 4,314 tests completed by commercial labs, and 34 deaths. I was saddened to learn that one of the deaths was a citizen of Washington Parish. My thoughts and prayers go out to that family.

Following the amended executive order issued by Gov. John Bel Edwards, I have made additional modifications to the workforce for parish government.
