Saturday morning update: State has seen 585 COVID-19 cases, 16 deaths

On Saturday morning, the Louisiana Department of Health (LDH) released its updated statistics concerning the COVID-19 pandemic in the state.

The LDH reported at 9:30 a.m. that it had seen 585 reported cases of COVID-19, with a total of 16 deaths. There had been a total of 1,230 tests completed by the state laboratory, and another 1,535 tests reported to the state by commercial labs.

As of Saturday morning, there had been 29 different parishes that had reported at least one case of COVID-19. There had been two reported cases in Washington Parish, but no deaths.

The new report showed some growth in the reported spread of the disease. As of Friday at 5:30 p.m., there had been 537 cases and 14 deaths.
