Friday morning update: State has seen 479 COVID-19 cases, 10 deaths

On Friday morning, the Louisiana Department of Health (LDH) released its updated statistics concerning the COVID-19 pandemic in the state.

The LDH reported at 9:30 a.m. that it had seen 479 reported cases of COVID-19, with a total of 10 deaths. There had been a total of 1,047 tests completed by the state laboratory — this total does not include commercial testing.

As of Friday morning, there had been 25 different parishes that had reported at least one case of COVID-19. There had been two reported cases in Washington Parish, but no deaths.

The new report showed some growth in the reported spread of the disease. As of Thursday at 5:30 p.m., there had been 392 cases and 10 deaths.
